A few unanswered questions like where is the old godlike being now and was he like Dandy was in the multiverse before that one, what was the warning he was giving Dandy of a multiiverse without a supreme being, will the new multiverse be the same as the old one, and was that some sort of godlike Dandy prime they were showing beyond the multiverse at the end of the credits or just a symbol of how Dandy encompasses everything about the show? They wrapped up everything neatly aside from that, the whole bit at the end with the old universe's supreme being reminded me of Galactus' origin from Marvel comics.

As far as I know it's the end of the series for now, I hope it comes back in a couple of years or so, give the creative teams enough time to recover from using up so much imagination on this series. The run was less than a year, but it's become one of my very few all time favorite shows.

The anime is over, but Watanabe mentions the possibility of making a film/OAV.

That would be so dandy if it's true.

ok thanks for the info. what exactly is a OAV? never really heard that term and do Americans get OAV's or its something they have to order from Japan? will they rerun Space Dandy on Toonami or its going the way of other animes and as of Saturday/Sunday between 2:30am-6:00am Beware The Bat? my favorite parts of Space Dandy is where Dandy and Johnny would dropkick each other during arguments and where Honey Emerald Flowsioned Dr. Gel before she escaped. by any chance was/is the creator of Space Dandy a Pro Wrestling fan or just a fan Puroresu (Japanese style pro wrestling?

Basically, it's a straight to DVD special.

It's also known as OVA, or Original Video Animation.

It's sort of the anime equivalent of a special or a mini-series, being something between a film and a series.

I'm pretty sure it ended since it garnered average ratings. But hopefully, when they get enough creative strategies to create a third season and/or maybe a movie or something, then that would be great! The episodes were getting worse anyway.

It's not cool to leave a show on air that could've been a terrific show but all the episodes had moments to make it seem like a different show.

I, too, would have liked a bit more focus on the main storyline in the second half, but then again, Bebop was mostly episodic as well. In addition, I got a kick out of how the show pretty much admitted its own negligence towards plot advancement, and began to treat every bizarre episode ending as 'Yep, here we go again' (thanks to the Narrator/God).

Heck, the fact that this laid-back attitude remained even when Dandy announced his ultimate sacrifice to his friends (who take it very casually) was a riot.

As for the finale itself, it didn't feel rushed and was gloriously animated from start to finish (theatrical quality, if you ask me). I'd be up for another season given that Dandy is, after all, episodic... but it's not mandatory. As Bebop and Champloo proved, it's best to leave us wanting more.

So long Space Dandy... you're gonna carry that booty.
