How can they cheat on votes?

How can they cheat on votes? I don't understand how they can do it? Does anyone have an idea?

Simple. Someone using 100+ separate email accounts gets a 100+ IMDb accounts and rates the movie ten stars.

That same person writes a 100+ ten star rated reviews of the movie.

It's not rocket science but IMDb shouldn't let it happen. All those ten star reviews account holders are just a week+ old.

it would be really simple to do with a bot.

The moral of the story is: beware of movies with apparently laughable plots which appear to have a too high rating from a couple thousand users.

There isn't much IMDB can do here and the little what's on their disposal would be cumbersome for legitimate users. Stuff like captchas on voting, credit or phone number requirement etc.

Hmmm, im guessing the 3k+ votes on 9stars are probably the kids from the same school friends/family and whatnot. Because this..."movie" seemed like a school project of sorts.

reply

naw, there were 5000 10's. And then instantly they were changed to 8's and 9's. It's one person running a bot.

You just pay IMDB to bump it up. Nothing new

ALL fake reviews from those that like the film. I've looked at their profiles - the only film they all rate is 'Dark Moon Rising' and part of them rated only one other film 'Soaked in Bleach'. I have a feeling these fake accounts worked on either one or both films. If they were real they would have been rating or started to rate many other films.

Get your film crew to make fake accounts just to favorably review their own movie. They are the only one's that like it apparently. The film is being shredded apart on other websites. :)
