WhyTF didn't Molly even change her shirt or jacket after finding out she had an impersonator?

Why do the writers and directors of these shows think we're so dumb when they make EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER ALWAYS HESITATE RIGHT AT THE CRUCIAL MOMENT?
