As with most shows that end up getting cancelled, they most likely weren't getting the ratings that they wanted.

Season 2 was a lot wilder.

I enjoyed season 2 more. I found it generally more interesting than season 1. JDM was a great addition to the cast, but sadly it still wasn't enough for the network to give them another season.

disappointing Extant not on again but at least there an ending on this show unlike lots others so not wasted time viewing.

Once the key actors were unavailable, they couldn't put together any sort of cohesive story line. Halle Berry alone could not carry the plot. Many viewers watched because of Camryn, Goran, Hiroyuki, Michael O'Neill, Maury, Sergio, etc and the remaining cast couldn't hold the audience. It's one thing to replace a character or two, but most of the cast? Doomed. They should have had faith in the series and coughed up the dough, or quit outright. And "JD" - Jeffrey Dean Morgan - couldn't save "The Good Wife" so introducing him was a mistake. Though she is very talented, Ms Berry cannot shoulder the entire series herself.

I absolutely loved the show.I do hate that it was cancelled.
