What were the hits for?

So i kinda grasp the idea of the film (i think), man rescues abused women, sleeps with a few of them, one of the woman (alexander's mum) is of a slightly higher rank than the rest, the kids are well loved and looked after but all the while being groomed for being unexpected hit 'kids'. But what are the targets exactly? Are they the abusers of the woman? Are they important political figures (to be)? I didn't understand the 'Aunty' question before the kids kill them, I understand the Uncle visiting and passing on the money for the hits, but what are the targets exactly? My theory is it's just some sort of debt collector/loan shark operation? Mechanic and a slob in the apartment etc.

Film had a nice atmosphere, well acted, good score. I think when alexander met the kid outside, and showed him the gun, and the kid had never seen one before, this is when he really 'turned'. I'm just not sure that would be enough to turn him so much that he would kill the 'Father' at the end, tho I am sure it is implied.

Too much stuff was implied. It worked against the movie.
