Partisan - title meaning ....SPOILER....

Loved this film. Didn't know much about it, was expecting yet another 'child hitman' film (which are very cool!). But this movie isn't about that, and the onscreen violence is actually quite minimalist.

Loved the writing and 'slow burn' of the story fuse, I had so many questions as I watched that I almost gave up on it but am so glad I didn't. The story is really about love and trust and power used responsibly, whether for oneself or others.

So with that, I was confused by the title. As an American, the term is applied to theoretical things like politics and sports. But for those who have lived through turbulent uprisings (U.S. last one is over 150 years in the rearview mirror) the word "Partisan" takes on a different meaning, entirely.
