Rip off the book "Nexus" by Ramez Naam

This is a poor counterfeit copying of the book "Nexus". Just in the trailer I counted 4 major story arches that are almost identical to the book.

This is a movie, not a book, so it isn't a rip off.

Is that supposed to be a joke?

You're joking right?

Maybe the book was based on the movie? You know, like the bible?

people on imdb need to learn the difference between similar plots and "rip-off". ripoff suggests illegal activity, like the violation of a copyright, which doesn't happen just because two movies have similar plots. Copyright literally has to be that pretty much major chunks of the story, characters, and often dialogues would have to be identical. Nexus is about nanotechnology, mind control, and a graduate student, but that's apparently where the similarities end. The two stories would have to wayyyyyyyy closer to be considered copyright violation. You can't make entire swathes of science off limits to creatives just because one person wrote a book dealing with those topics. And you shouldn't be running around labeling creative people criminals by calling their work "rip-offs" when you apparently don't understand the rules of creativity or copyright.

And being that there are hundreds if not thousands of science fiction and speculative fiction books utilizing the same plot elements, it's not enough to call it a rip[-off.
