To be fair none of the guys she was sleeping with were that good looking either. And if she talked game the way she did the rest of the time, then I'm sure most guys would definitely jump on her. She's not ugly, and she certainly gives off a dirty vibe.

shareI have not seen this movie, so I can't fully comment, but I will say that if a woman makes it clear that she is available for easy-no-strings-attached casual sex she does not have to be particularly hot to find a taker. In fact, she can probably find a man who is more attractive than she is if she makes it clear he will get some easy sex. That's just the way things work. Now if the men who are much more attractive than she is are shown pining for her, THAT is unrealistic. The men won't be interested in her after they are done. They will probably want to go to her house, so she won't know where they live, and they will give her a fake phone number so she won't be able to contact them. A woman does not have to be hot be get men to have casual sex with her, if she wants them to give her the time of day after, THEN she had better be on their level. If this movie is showing Amy Schumer having casual sex with men who are out of her league and then having those men be interested in something more, THAT is unrealistic. Women can sleep with men they can't date, and men can date women they can't sleep with. As strange as that may seem, think about it, it makes sense. Women who have been around the block know that if they just make themselves available they can find a man to have a one night stand with, even if they are only of average attractiveness. Men don't tend to have the same power. Men, in general, will lower their standards for easy sex.
My comments are generalizations. There are exceptions to every rule. I really should see this movie.
I wouldn't watch this movie looking for entertainment, but if you just want to know what everyone else is talking about, I understand. I watched it quite a while back, but I think I know what the OP meant, and I'd have to agree. I don't think the OP was saying that a woman (or man) needs to be hot to participate in a no-stings kinda thing. What I think they were saying, and what I'd agree with, is that this character acted like Bill Hader's character had essentially won the lottery in her having anything to do with him, both in her words and actions. I personally don't feel a person's entire worth is based on their looks, but if that's the conversation we're having... I know Hader isn't the hottest thing in the world, but she certainly isn't either. And if we take more than just her looks into the equation, many would argue the results would be quite a bit worse.

So I can assume you didn't like Kevin James in King of Queens because it's so unrealistic that a schlub would have a beautiful wife. Right? Of course, the fat, loud, kind of jerky husband with the slim, lovely, patient wife has been used so often it's a cliche. I guess that makes it okay, at least for men, who probably think that is what they "deserve" as well.
Still, I don't care for Amy Schumer in anything, don't find her to be particularly talented at all, and wonder how she became so popular.

trixie30, every beer commercial shows a chubby, not quite-cute guy with a thin, cute chick. I guess guys seeing the commercial are supposed to think if they drink that beer they'll get a cute girl.
No, its a beer commercial, the whole point of which is to sell beer.
THEREFORE: if a guy buys enough of them for that girl they'll hook up. If he drinks enough of them himself whoever he goes home with will look like her, at least at the time. It's win-win!
