OST

definitely one of the most interesting aspects of this movie is the original soundtrack, edited by Sasha Ring, aka Apparat.

the music is amazing and gives freshness and empathy to a movie that risks to be static and dusty.

it's very interesting to notice the duality (and that's only my opinion) of the two music genres with whom the author plays: classic and light pieces when leopardi feels some serenity and happiness in life; electro-post rock when he feels all the grief and constrictions of existence. especially the last one opens the windows of feelings and sympathy to the viewer, transmitting the inner voice of the poet.

the only criticism that I feel like I can do is that in some parts the lyrics are in English, clashing in a movie so permeated by Italian language, history and poetry.

the soundtrack won the first "Premio Piero Piccioni – Official Collateral Venice Film Festival Award" at the 71° Mostra Internazionale del Cinema of Venice (2014).

The english lyrics didn't bother me, to be honest. I didn't remember the soundtrack won the Premio Piccioni, btw.
