Could of been great

I'm sure Carlton Leach's later life is full of interesting and shocking stories about his past and his line of work, so why didn't it translate on screen?
Harnett clearly has an eye for film and works well with his cinematographer and editor in providing a smooth, clean looking film with some gorgeous imagery.
I can't help but feel he didn't live up to his side of the deal though, as a writer too his job is to tell a story, to set a good pace for the film etc and unfortunately he does neither.
Where was the story? It was just a bunch of episodes thrown together with his addiction to cocaine the only thread holding them together.
There's a good film here somewhere but I think a better director would of done it justice.
Harnett shows effort for a first time writer/director though.
