Michael

I've never been able to understand how it seems that this man had it all and yet he was so miserable and killed himself.

Does anyone know if he suffered from depression or was it the drugs?

I finished the second part and I am pissed. Paula and Michael acted like kids. He was almost 40, he had a good life, its not like he became famous over night, but he got used to getting what he wanted. Cobain was depressed, I don't know about Michel. It was probably booze and drugs, they can lead to depression.

To think that if he only stayed with Helena, he would probably still be alive. Getting into a relationship with Paula was such a dumb thing, she had kids and a respected husband. They destroyed so many lives.

Seemed everything changed when he got that head injury. Might still be alive today if not for that.

I agree, from what NTUA showed was that everything changed after that injury. Unfortunately it's something we'll never know.

I felt so sorry for him, the anguish he must have felt not being able to see his daughter when he was obviously so in love with her.

Money doesn't equal happiness. Just because someone has all the fame, money, and access to all beautiful people doesn't mean that person will be happy. Michael always had a beautiful woman on his arm, money in his pocket and fame at his front door, but he still suffered from loneliness from what I have heard. And sometimes loneliness is too much to handle for some people.

I personally think he led a pretty miserable life all along, that it was wealth on the outside but poverty within.

I keep hearing that from people who think life is just being rich, famous and getting laid as often as possible. The truth is all those things buy you the deepest loneliness you can ever get and isolation is the worst feeling in life.

Honestly I think he was probably bi-polar but the why really doesn't matter in the end.

I worked at a NYC record label when it happened and it was pretty known that it was auto-erotic asphyxiation, not an intentional suicide.
