Why a 5.8?

I don't understand, seriously. I'll start by saying this was no masterpiece and that I can name other 10 Sion Sono films better than this one, but a 5.8? I think it was pretty well executed, the story was ok, maybe a little typical on the whole thing about rival gangs and stuff, but at least the fact that it was incorporated with prostution and that the gang members are pimps, that was somewhat original to me.

And most importantly, it has heart. There's so many films that are all about catch-phrases and ridiculously heroism and special effects, specially graphic novel adaptations. This film felt interisting all the way through and I actually cared for the characters. There's several films that get mad praise and ratings around the 7s and 8s while not having the passion and the beauty that this film has. Or are you gonna tell me The Avengers has more heart than this film?

To me, this film is a low to a solid 7.

Actually an average without review counts nothing, even if it's an average of many votes, considering the high number of 10s or 1s in almost every movie you can guess why. Not everyone is a movie reviewer and follows a criteria to follow for his ratings (me too i admit :) ). People mostly follow their expectations on a movie and vote accordingly.
Just as an example, a funny thing concerning Sono: in Himizu a guy rated it bad because the synopsis written in imdb didn't match the actual movie. Do we have to take in consideration those people?
In a such populated site as imdb you can view the rating related to a mainstream audience, and Sono isn't mainstream :)

Because this film is silly. It's based on manga and it shows.... I love Sion Sono's direction but this film is unbearable to watch because of it's silly plot. A lot of people don't care about the idealized version of gangsters.
