Not so good

Apart from the religious exposition, it had continuity problems and despite it being 90 minutes it felt overly long. I've lost track of how many films have used a hospital as a "middle realm" between death and the afterlife(if you believe in such a thing) too, not exactly fresh. That whole ghost hunter angle 2/3rds in didn't have a very good feel either, but feel free to disagree. I can't say I'd recommend it. 4/10

Completely agree. I'd read some of the external reviews which all rated the movie highly so I was looking forward to it. It proved a total let-down - confused, preachy and long-winded. 3/10 for me.

Saved me 90 minutes thx

Agreed. The film was a let down for me. It just kept missing the ball over and over again. There was no way for me to get engaged in the story. Which is a bummer because I like the idea of the movie. 2/10 here.

The impostor's back where he belongs. Let's forget him.

Would anyone be willing to offer up a suggestion or two on these similarly-themed movies? I haven't had a case of 'almost, but not quite' déjà vu loke this in a long time, and this is driving me crazy with the 'on the tip of my tongue'thing. What flipping movie have I seen that is really, REALLY similar to this?

reply

*like. How autocorrect came up with loke, I'll never know.

the others?

The Morgue (2008) is pretty similar.

I really never cared for any of the characters

It's not that it's bad, it's that you spend too much time wondering how Ray Liotta took 30yrs off of his life and the paramedic looks like that one comedian who was on an MTV game show kind of thing and you can't for the life of you remember his name.
Marveling at the nurse's pinup hairdo takes some time as well.

The movie isn't as bad as a lot of people are saying. I think Ethan Embry's character kind of ruined the movie but it was a decent watch if you understood the meaning of it.
