Non horror fans downgrading horror films..

Its tough to find horror films rated over a 6 and nearly impossible to find ones over 7. Its cause horror has a lot of haters and they won't like a dark film no matter what. Thats why this film isn't a 6 at least. I wish biased people who hate horror would just fk off when it comes to rating the films.

I know what you mean. Sure most movies on netflix are just crap but it seems every horror film on imdb or netflix gets horrendous reviews.

Yep, I agree. You have to use a different scale to judge horror films at imdb. A 5 is a pretty good horror movie. Above 6 is outstanding, a classic. A 4 is probably OK but nothing special. Below 4 ... probably a dog.

The Ring, which I consider one of the best horror movies of this century, is rated 7.1. The Others, another of the best, is rated 7.6. Those are good scores, but as horror films, they should score a 9 at least.

I wish there was a rating system specific to horror, where fans rated films within the genre, rather than the general public rating films of all types against each other.

I believe that most horror films are poor movies. This however was a good movie.

I guess people like me balance the scales. I rated it a 9.
Maybe i over rated it, but i have seen it twice now, a year apart, and was impressed both times.

One thing I learned is to never trust the imdb reviews and scores because what's the point? No matter which film appears on imdb, it will ALWAYS be filled with trolls, suspicious users who give the film a ten cause they were related to the film by working/acting on it, users who never seen the film but voted anyways and so much more as well.

There are so many films with insane low scores even though the film was actually decent or better than expected if you know what I mean. Everyone is better off watching it first rather than checking the ratings/reviews on imdb to decide whether or not the film is worth watching.
