Why wasn't Caesar forgiven? I know the girl he hit dead. But he tried to confess. One could argue that had 6 not caused so much confusion then the police would have listened to Caesar and the girl could have been saved. I know he wouldn't have confessed had 6 not been there but he did.
I think it was because he was too late. When Caesar does confess to the hit and run, 6 says that it doesn't matter as the victim died two minutes before that. Also 6 is not there to forgive the sinners no matter how repentant they are, he is there to collect their souls. Basically from his perspective trying is not good enough, had Caesar confessed and the girl survived then he would have been spared. Basically, beeing sorry for something and confessing is not enough to save Caesar.
