Is there any scenario that Cole and Cassie can live happily ever after?

I started a thread about this very subject a short while back...about what would really happen to Cole if the plague was prevented.

It does seem increasingly like, contrary to what we were led to believe, Cole wouldn't necessarily be erased. After all if the Witness can survive not being conceived then Cole can survive never time-travelling.

If Cole can 'survive', Cassie can too, probably.

Hmm...I wonder if the real ending of the series is Cole and Cassie fixing the timeline such that they get to go back to the 50's (or some other time period, maybe even the present-day) and raise their kid as a normal child who doesn't go on to become the Witness and wreck havoc upon the timeline. That's the only kind of happy ending I see happening.

There are so many loops I can't keep it straight but if they were to make everything right then NO there is no way the two can live happily ever after. She is after all 30 or 40 yrs older than him.

the solution to all the problems would be splintering to future cassie at the cdc before she dies. (how about a couple of hours this time?)

She already knows how everything plays out, but of course the show used that "can't change the path you're on" nonsense to avoid having her fix all the problems

Also since they exist out of time even if they change the future they should retain all their memories like they've been doing.

I want more time showing cassie n cole together before the show end, hopefully there is a happy ending for both, let it be a pleasant surprise for all fans:-)

I've only started to watch the series and finally finished season 2. After watching the last episode, it looks like Madeline Stowe's character was hinting for him not to go to Titan to stop the vicious cycle with the Witness growing up with the Army of 12 Monkeys. When he and Cassie splintered back from stopping the paradox, he could have just shared with her about the previous timeline and return to 1957 together. Thus, ending the cycle and the Witness being born and raised by them. That makes the most sense to me.

I must admit, I'm a big Cole and Cassie fan. It's a delight to watch them in season 1 and at the end of 2. I loved the 57-59 period and I wouldn't have minded if it ended there somehow. Now they're seperated AGAIN! And when they finaly meet in S3, it will be awkward all over again... And there's a big change one of them will (permanently) die in S3. I should've never started watching this show...
