The directing falls apart at the end.

There is just a lot of unnecessary and forced movements near the end. The acting also gets especially dubious.
Cross stated in interviews that a critic claimed that the ending is just completely unbelievable. I actually believe that it's believable-- it was just pulled off so poorly that it seems unbelievable.

It's a satire... the whole film is unbelievable.

The acting and characters are paper thin.

A very hamfisted amateurish movie. The end is awful. If Cross wants to preach he should start a church, not make "comedies". I mean, I love the guy on Mr Show, that's one of the best shows ever made IMO.

But he seemingly cannot help himself when it comes to personal projects and his politics.

And if he absolutely had to turn his film into a platform for his personal politics at least make it funny. The ending of Hits was awful and completely obvious.

I honestly don't understand after all the movies he's done and all the stuff he's written how he could make such a badly acted, directed, hamfisted film.

Everyone in it is a caricature. Definitely won't be watching this one again.
