Julia Stiles?

What exactly was she doing in this flick?
I thought the movie was alright but didn't get why she was in it.

reply

Where was she? I didn't even see her at all and she's not listed with a character name on IMDB.

reply

She's not in it. But if you watch it on Netflix (as of June 3, 2015) it has her listed as the star of it. Sounds like someone eff'd up the metadata over at Netflix.

Her name is listed on IMDB in the cast list, but it does not include a character name. Weird.

she was in it right at the start, she was the chick with the kettle, didn't know where to put it.
i'm guessing she was just doing a cameo appearance for *beep* and giggles, but yeah, it's odd how netflix has her top billed.

It's odd, but not surprising for Netflix.

Wonderful service, don't get me wrong, but sometimes they can be pretty screwy. Especially when they give recommendations for movies based on movies you've watched.

You'll watch a movie like Goodfellas, and they'll come up with suggestions for movies similar to Goodfellas that might include "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" or "The Sound of Music".

It's truly bizarre.

Back to the topic. I noticed Julia at the beginning too.
Just some sort of weird cameo appearance.
I guess things are going good enough for her where she can do cameos.
(I was actually hoping to see more of her....cuz she's pretty cool )

It really is bizarre how the algorithm seems to work. Say, I watch Sharknado, because it's unique for it is. Netflix decides I must like really bad B grades - so that's what is suggested for a heck of a long time. Years ago my son watched hours of animated cartoons on my account and gave every single one of them a 5 star. I draw and paint; watching cartoons just drives me nuts and it took months of clicking "not interested" to make it stop. Wish there was a button I could click to let them know I like movies the makers have put effort and care into making - no matter the genre or budget.

Julia was in this thing for about a minute. I was waiting for a tie in at the end, but nope. I think they might have had a few extra bucks during post and she had a morning available.

reply

She was in It's a Disaster with David Cross, so I took her appearance as a buddy cameo.

You must be here to fix the cable

reply

Hey, decided to check that out. Not bad - thanks.

Cool! :-)

She's dropping off some recycling at the very beginning of the film.

Sounds like someone eff'd up the metadata over at Netflix.

No, you're just factually incorrect.

reply

Yeah, she drops off the electric kettle.

reply

She's like the FIRST person in the film and tars are like, "She's not in it."
