give new TV programmes a chance

whilst there is probably a very long list of things they could do better with this show, it isn't actually that bad in my opinion. once you get over the accent issue with jamie bamber, the rest is good entertainment.

there is so much storyline potential and the actors and acting is great.

if everyone criticizes the show and stops watching there won't be a chance for any more to be made, and for it to get better. and then this show much like so many others will get cancelled and we will get stuck with more cruddy reality tv shows.

so lets all try to give it a chance because it isnt so awful to warrant all the abuse.

Sorry but I have given this show a full series now and it's pretty bad, The acting is terrible apart from two actors who play Asbo and Kev. They pretty do what they can do with a terrible script..

What let's it down is the fact they're trying to hard, They didn't want to be too much like London's Burning and they went into a different angle so they threw in the odd swear word here and sex scene here, But it's absolute rubbish... Some scenes are cringe worthy to watch.. And the lack off a fire technical assistant is very evident..

They portray firefighters in a terrible way and how they talk to the public.. It's a poorly written show..

A shame considering this had good potential

I think if Sky want to continue this show, for the next series get in help from the London Fire brigade to advise them on the day to day running of a fire station and crew and how they deal with shout's etc

On the basis of the criticisms of this show then every medical, crime,... whatever show would be taken off the air because experts don't find the details technically accurate.

I know a lot about IT and computers, and see that 95% of shows (and movies) involving this technology are so appalling in their deployment of it that they may as well be waving wands around and chanting spells. That includes pretty much every Bond film of the last 30 years.

But if you know little to nothing about subject X then you concentrate on the characters and stories. When you get past the problems with X then you see that (for instance) "The Smoke" is generally superior to quite a lot of stuff on the box in dealing with personal tragedies and the social forces that generate them.

I don't care what anyone else says about this show, I love it. Especially Asbo. Didn't think I could feel sorry for him after what he did, but I actually do. I cried like a baby when he was confessing all to Kev and that's the first time I can remember crying at anything on TV in like forever. Hats of to Taron Egerton for the performance he gave. It may not be realistic and that might ruin it for some, but I've never been a firefighter, so I really wouldn't know, but I love the drama and that's good enough for me.

Live life such, that when you die, even the Undertaker is sorry

i totally agree Jbird65, even with the big names & actors like Jamie Bamber, Taron Egerton has really shone through. i too cried like a big baby when he was confessing!

i just think if we were willing to overlook certain things and switch off their inner critic, they would enjoy it. it would be a shame if this homemade drama was not renewed for another series. i don't think i could cope with another reality show. i mean, TOWIE is on series 11 !!!
