I am rather angry why this film is not getting the kind of response that it should. Okay, so it has a bit of an abrupt ending...it should have been longer and so and so. But hey, that does not spoil the fact that as a film, it is evocative, well-crafted, fully-assured of its pace and hilarious and heartfelt at equal times.
The problem is our cinemagoing public is so used to long dramas crackling with masala and all that they have forgotten how to appreciate a neat little film which explores feelings rather than just show and splendor.
Please explain why the ratings are so low...the film deserves at lest 7.5

Feels like a Woody Allen flick knock-off directed by a student who's taken Film 101. I've never seen so many directorial cliches crammed into one movie that's trying sooo hard to be off-beat and "quirky". The people who this film seeks to appeal to are probably already acquainted with this style and have seen it done much, much better.

If Indian directors are not interested in doing the typical Bollywood movie then at least attempt to revolutionize the genre in some way rather than biting the style of a well-established director.

The only thing I enjoyed was the music and the cinematography/locations. Everything else -- from the direction to the acting (oh god was Deepika awful) -- was a miss.

I really liked the movie. The message here is 'move on',like the way Fanny had. Fanny taught everybody the lesson.
I rated it 8. Well deserved.

I always find it humorous when people complain that others did not enjoy the movie as much as they should. You don't get to tell others how to feel. And to get "angry" b/c people didn't like a bad movie as much as you is pretty ridiculous and says a lot about you (and not in a good way).

Please explain why the ratings are so low

The premise sounded very good. The first scene was very good. Then the film pretty much went downhill from there. No real conflict other than the dumb things the dumb characters did to get in their own way. Unlikable people doing stupid things. The only decent character was the main old guy, but even he was kind of a jerk at the end when he saw that Fanny was fat.

I thought this movie slowed down once they ran out of gas and got really stupid. A guy got shot in the head and no one even noticed or cared. It's like the last 1/3rd of the movie was written by child that had no clue what he/she was doing and just wanted to finish it.

You don't get to decide what others are supposed to rate the film. You are only responsible for YOUR rating. I did not enjoy the film rated it way lower than the 7.5 you think I should have rated it.

(way lower!) And you can't even rate it a 7.5 b/c IMDB would only let you rate whole numbers. So you'd have to decide which people rated it an 8 and which ones rated it at 7 in order to have it a 7.5 and I doubt you have the IQ to organize such a feat. I mean, "the group" rated a film you liked 0.9 lower than you would have liked and you flipped out. Yeah, I don't want you in charge of anything.

*EDIT: btw, it' been a year and a half since your post and the film's rating is now a 5.9. I bet you haven't even given this film another thought since then. If you truly loved this film you probably would have checked in on the forum from time to time.
