The Dad
What a wimp! If my in-laws sent my child into exile to some shack, I would pack up and leave. The mother was a basket case and a product of this repressed family, but the Dad should have stuck up for his kid.
I agree, the dad and the mother both bore equal responsibility for protecting their son.
