ending (spoilers)

I don't think she was dead the whole time. But i'm not too sure what happened either lol

I think the creature was influencing her mental state in some way. They were connected physically, so why not mentally? So maybe it had the ability to manipulate time and reality, so that's why she lived through the accident and how they got away at the end. But again, I'm not too sure, so I don't know how helpful this is.
