Revenge movies only work if...

...if the bad guys do something horrible to the victim. Yes, they kidnapped her, but she easily escaped. She then spent the majority of the movie running away from them...not running toward them to get her revenge. Including the time when she say down for cake and coffee with the woman neighbor instead of insisting on calling 9-1-1.
She eventually seeks revenge because she found our they killed her sister, but this was with about 5 minutes left in the film. Why not reveal that much sooner?

They kidnapped her, she witnessed a violent and disturbing rape, they set dogs on her, and it was made pretty clear that if they caught up to her she would be raped and killed.

I understand what you're saying about how revenge movies usually have the protagonist suffer more at the hands of the bad guys before coming back for revenge.

To me this was more a survival type movie than a revenge movie.

It becomes revenge at the end because of the twist with the sister, but I think that was just thrown in to make the ending more emotional for the main character.
