Amira's wardrobe...
What... the hell? The point of wearing a hijab for a Muslim woman is to completely cover her aurat (don't know the word in English), which is from head to toe with the exception of face and hands. I haven't seen the movie yet but from what I've seen on the poster and the stills, they got it extremely wrong. Short dresses? Short sleeves? Hell, in the poster the character even rides on a motorcycle with her legs bared for all to see. This is completely unrealistic and distracting. Either you make the character wear a hijab or you don't. In between just looks stupid. There are Muslim women who don't wear hijab, you know. For me, it is okay if a character dresses like most women (short skirt and all) but still indentifies herself as a Muslim, as long as she doesn't wear hijab. It would be much more realistic and wouldn't take me out of the movie. If you choose to put her in hijab, you should adjust the rest of her clothing, too. I'm sorry if I'm ranting, but being in a Muslim-populated country, it's just really disturbing me.
