I No Longer Find British Comedy Funny

And why is that?
Has political correctness and a fear of offending truly created a grey comedic landscape?
Comedians around the country decried the previous governments 'hatred' laws and it seems they were prophetic indeed, British comedy used to be pre-eminent, now it is barely a blot on the landscape.

Whatever else you want to say about the series I don't think its problem was being too politically correct.

Indeed it's about as un-PC as you can get!

Are you using Babylon as a example of British comedy because it's not intended as such, Sam and Jesse (writers who also write Peep Show and Fresh Meat, both brilliant examples of awesome British comedies IMHO), have said it's drama with elements of black comedy and a departure from their usual work.
Which comedies did you consider to be pre-eminent in the field?

I take it all back, since episode 2 I'm loving the show. The assumed political correctness is in fact the opposite. Well done C4!
