Interesting Differences Between U.S. and UK.

As an American watching this show it is really interesting to see the differences in British and American police. I know it is a comedy show and pretty inaccurate at times, but I am sure it gets some basic stuff close to correct. The part I found most interesting was how it was a big deal for the character Robbie to go off and get firearms training and carry a weapon after already being an officer and on the job. I'm sure everyone already knows all police in the U.S. carry firearms all the time and firearms training on multiple weapons systems is basic for new recruits. And it is not a big deal.

Also interesting is that Sundance Channel in America did not air the first episode? What's up with that? Anyone know the real reason why? I did find it strange how they had a lengthy opening where they caught you up on things when the show first aired. I thought I must have missed the first episode but I checked it is was the premier on Sundance.

Interesting show either way. I like seeing how other countries do things compared to America. Hopefully the show gets funnier.

Try and seek out the pilot, directed by Danny Boyle. That was funny. The series was still amusing but a lot more serious.
