This was much better than I expected (I still shudder at the Captain Scarlet remake) but why did they make such a mess of the original theme music?
I suppose this is what happens when clueless hipsters are allowed near a keyboard.

In the ITV2 documentary the composer said he wanted to give it a more modern feel for contemporary audiences. But yes he's made an awful hash of it and destroyed the underlying melody.
He is an award winning composer - so here's an award from me - custard pie on it's way.
So basically it's back to the old cliché - if it ain't broke - don't fix it.
