Great potential, poorly paced.

So this first episode was two episodes spliced together, but I feel that first half (Episode One) could really have been spread out over the whole 40 minutes to much better effect. Actually spend some time introcucing the characters and allowing the plot to breathe a little. Ideally, in terms of pacing you want a middle ground between what was presented here and what we had with the 60s show. It would be easy to wave away any flaws with "its a kids show", but I think successful kids shows almost treat the kids as adults, much like the original Gerry Anderson television shows.

Definitely. the pacing was too much like new Dr who to me and was too frantic and loud with hardly any breaks. the guy who did the music from Dr Who is involved so i'm not surprised.

they seem to think kids can't handle any quieter bits. and of course T Birds shouldn't be just aimed at kids anyway.

Gerry Anderson always aid that it wasn't meant to be a children's program. That they used marionettes and miniatures for budgetary reasons.
