Don't let your kids play with toy guns

Or else they will end up killing people.

Don't let your kids text their friends, because they are probably texting about killing random people in the woods

Don't believe your kids when they say they are hanging out with friends after soccer practice... they are most likely in the woods about to carve a pregnant women up.

Everything about this movie is propaganda to make the older generation believe that playing with guns (boy at the end), playing violent video games etc. makes us all into psycho killers. The extra touch of having them not interact at all, just text was pretty obnoxious too.

I saw it more as just a complete fear of technology. They beat you over the head with how the adult characters rely too much on technology, like gps and smartphones, and should learn to be more in touch with nature and survivalism, and lo and behold a group of kids appear that are so comically brainwashed by their smartphones and violent video games that they can't even speak to each other except through text messages.

but...I guess you're right about that ending scene too though. I mean how else can we possibly interpret that?

I can't tell if this was written by a kid who just started college and took his first humanities class or a really out of touch old man, and I can't for the life of me understand how they could have tried so hard to be pushing this kind of message and at the same time have the good guys be a group of people who are illegally trespassing and running around in the woods with guns.
