Caught this in Edmonton back in October where I got to meet Brandon and Kasi (lovely people).

While well put together overall, I couldn't help but be bothered by the inclusion of the couple's
mutual friend Kat (Kate Connor) in the main plot of the film.

To me, the film seemed to be about a yuppy couple who couldn't relate to each other except
through their dog.

Having their beloved pet taken away should have left just the two of them together on their journey
and I felt Kat really distracted from this.

I think the character was useful because she was there to comment on Abby and Elliott's behavior and also to help get them into more sticky situations.
