After all, the movie is showing that he is unfaithful, drags her around the world while risking his health and life at every turn. In reality, they are bound to have had arguments about all that, don't you think?
The movie depicted a loving relationship, to me. But he loved his mother most of all, of course.
They were not figures on top of a wedding cake. They were real people, much like people you and I know. People who love each other but have troubled times, good times, lots of love making, some arguments, some doubts.
