SPOILER ALERT: Skylar becomes "the killer"..no one picked up on this.

Spoiler Alert; I read all the messages and no one seems to have picked up on the fact that Miss Meadows always wore her little white gloves while out and about. Therefore, there may be none of her fingerprints on the gun. And, who had the gun in his grimy hand just before he was justifiably shot by the Sheriff for threatening a child and Miss Meadows? Why it was the dirtbag, and recently released criminal offender, Skylar. As the Sheriff kicked away the gun from Skylar's hand, I thought, "How perfect. The Sheriff solved the case as he just "caught" the "real" murderer in the act as he used that gun." They had the bullets from the "vigilante" killings, and they will match the gun taken from Skylar's hand. Open and shut case. Miss Meadows, the Sheriff's wife, is now off the hook for the shootings. Who would know otherwise (unless the gun is registered to Miss Meadows, which seems unlikely)? Obviously, the Sheriff wouldn't rat out his wife. Of course, it looks as if the ending of the movie shows her going out "on patrol" again, I suppose looking for more bad guys, but that's not very clear. She could just be out for a stroll.
