Very underrated

This is a great little film. It's a strong 7 as my conservative rating.

I think Elizabeth Banks is one to keep your eye on (for various reasons). She's the real deal.

This movie reminds me of the days of solid and thoughtful story telling and movie making. It's nice to know it can still be done, and it's really a shame how bad the craft has become, in general.

The low ratings are for the most part due to horrible directing and some sloppy writing.
The story line in of itself is solid. The acting is VERY GOOD with what the actors have to work with. This is not an easy task considering we open with nothing and try to build a plot and some concern for the characters. WE see NOTHING of the accident that caused the deaths of people who we didn't even know for a minute.
Scenes cut from one scene to another in ways that would almost have us believe that a character is in 2 places at the same time doing 2 different things.
We are left with loose ends of more than one plot with no sense of any sort of consequence of the characters ultimately doing "the right thing", if that is what they were doing at all.

Dont get me wrong, I DID find the plot engaging and the acting was VERY good by all the key players. On those points alone, it was at least a 9 for me. The directing was the anchor that kept this movie from being all that it could and and SHOULD have been.
