They Need To Stop The Remake, Higher New Writers For New Stories
"Crystal" is soooo boring. Some of the best episodes back in the day were the ones written by screenwriters who didn't adapt the stories to the manga.

I agree, people do not realize they are projecting the glory of their youth onto the anime. I thought the story animated was very original and un-pretentious unlike the original series, not saying I don't love the original looking back at it now it was just cheesy.
sharei absolutely loved the original when i was growing up but there is no way i would watch all those episodes now. out of 200 episodes there may only be 20 or so that were actually relevant to the plot and story arcs.
crystal isnt without its faults but at least there is no useless MOTW filler episodes. It seems to me that those that are bagging on this adaptation do so because it isnt the original. they dont seem to appreciate that its the original story. if they even know what the original story is.
Just because it's the original manga story doesn't mean that it's better or good. And the lack of filler just backfired for Crystal, while it gave the story more time to develop and developed the characters in the original anime, something the manga didn't even do.
shareYea I really feel like we needed a compromise between the two series. Like 20 episode seasons. Could do some of those fillers/MOTW at the start that focused on some of the others to develop them more but without dragging on forever and getting the story progressing sooner and quicker still.
I liek Crystal for teh fact that it just tells the arca nd is faster paced but some fo teh develepment of characters has been lost for that. However the original anime just drug on too much. Been rewatching it a bit lately and it just takes forever for anything of note to happen and got kind of boring.
I never felt the original went on too long, but that may be because I prefer a bit of a slower paced story rather than a faster paced one.

shareNo, I'm a rabid Sailor Moon fan. I loved the original 90's series, I liked the live action series, and I love Crystal. Because I accept it for what it is and I don't try to compare it to the previous series.

Well said. I really wish fandoms would learn to accept new retellings of older works. Remake=/=bad.
