So bad I spoiled it to save you the agony (Major Spoiler)

A wife (Julie), unhappy with her marriage to her shrewd businessman husband (Jonathan), leaves him. She has an affair with a weasel looking guy (Trent) and gets pregnant by him. She's accustom to her husbands wealth but files for divorce. She loves Trent although he's nearly broke. Julie leads Jonathan to believe the baby is his and hides her affair with Trent from him pending the divorce so she will get a large settlement. Unknown to Julie, Trent is only interested in the money she will receive from the divorce settlement. Jonathan meanwhile learns of the affair after getting proof from an investigator (Sully) and seeks revenge.

Sully calls Julie telling her that he has kidnapped Trent and is holding him for a $250,000 ransom. She can't raise the money so she turns to her husband asking him for the money, refusing to tell him why, other than someone may die. Jonathan relents and gives her the money. Julie pays the ransom.

Jonathan shows up to Julie and Trent's love getaway in Cape Cod. She finally admits to him her affair. Jonathan tells her that he suspects Trent is running a ransom scam. Jonathan also suspects the child may not be his but she's adamant in telling him it is. Julie flees the house then Jonathan calls Sully, telling him that he wants Trent killed.

Julie is told where Trent is and rescues him. Sully shows up and tells her that the kidnapping was a setup by Trent while holding them both at gun point. They escape but Sully shoots at Trent and he falls into the water. Jonathan shows up while Sully is holding Julie at gun point. Sully threatens to kill Julie unless Jonathan pays him $500,00. He agrees and they all leave together.

Jonathan pays the $500,000 but they have to wait before the money transfer is confirmed. Sully shoots the Cape Cod house landlady and has Jonathan and Julie throw her body in the water. Sully, previously drugged by Julie, begins to feel the effects and is covercome by Jonathan who takes his gun. While being held at gun point by Jonathan, Sully announces that he was told by Jonathan earlier to kill Trent. Jonathan then shoots Sully. Julie, now knowing the plan, accuses Jonathan but he in turn blames everything on her.

Julie wants to call the police but Jonathan refuses, saying that "we just killed a man". She protests, saying that she didn't. Jonathan tries to convince her not to call the police but she says that she's tired of all the lies. They argue over the fate of the baby (Jonathan still believing the child is his) and he tells her that he knew she was cheating. She then tells Jonathan that the baby isn't his. He almost shoots her but doesn't.

Trent shows up wet and bloodied and strikes Jonathan with an oar knocking him momentarily unconscious. He then tells Julie that he needs to tell her something but she says she already knows everything. He tries to apologize when Jonathan awakes. Julie grabs the gun while Jonathan accuses Trent of hiring Sully first. Jonathan and Trent yell at each other until Julie fires a shot into the air and tells them to stop.

She tells Jonathan that they are done once and for all. She then tells Trent that she wanted them to be a family but he drew her madman husband back into her life so she's going to raise her baby alone. She tells both of them never to come close to her or her baby.

While holding both Jonathan and Trent at gunpoint, she takes Sully's cellphone and tells them both that if either one of them tries to claim paternity she has proof of their involvement and will tell everything. She then leaves.

Thank you! I made it about 45 minutes in to thus terrible movie before I came here for a spoiler so I could put myself out of my misery.

I'm still confused why Trent was drugging her in the beginning, and how did Jonathan and Trent both meet Sully?
