Did James Denton have to learn sign language?

just curious if he had to learn ASL for this film, or if he knew it previously.

James was taught ASL for the film by our fantastic interpreters that were on set. He picked it up very fast!

Very cool! I was quite impressed; actually came here to post asking if anyone knew if he'd grown up with a hearing impaired family member.
