Squatters are a real problem

Depending on the state, all the squatters have to do is claim that the home was "abandoned" if the homeowner goes away for the weekend, make a fake deed and change the locks. The cops won't make the squatter leave once they are in the house. The case will be tied up in the courts for a year and the squatter gets free rent. Not sure why this is continually allowed to happen. It makes sense that Lifetime made a movie about this serious problem, because it really is like a nightmare for many people.
