Shame they used the same actor, very distracting, kept expecting Father Ted to kick him up the arse.

Norton's performance was the finest acting in the film. So you were sitting there thinking about Father Ted? If so, that may be because Jimmy's Hall is not very good cinema. I feel sorry for that poor horse which appeared in nearly every scene. The actor playing Jimmy Grafton was unbearably bland--handsome, no doubt, but totally unconvincing as a charismatic organiser.
