Feminist Horror - rare and original in the genre

The most interesting aspect is that this film passes The Bechdel Test, and is female-driven which is rare and original in the horror genre. It's refreshing to see a horror where women aren't degraded, tortured and exploited. Other than that, good location/set design; foreboding sound design/score; decent paranormal story line; a few continuity issues; special effects are good but there should have been more.

I don't know if I would use the term "rare"
Halloween, REC, The Fog, P2, The Decent, All the boys love Mandy Lane, The Craft, Underworld, Ginger Snaps, Candyman, Carrie, and A Nightmare on Elm Street just off the top of my head all have leading ladies/female driven.

Nothing original in this movie and certainly nothing rare. You must be involved in this production since you just joined IMDB.

P.S. I just watched this steaming pile of crap. The actors are pathetic. The story has holes so big I could park a truck in. The only redeeming quality is the nice stone work of the driveway. Yes people it is that bad.
Who was the idiot dumb enough to finance this turd?

They must have had all their friends rate it on Netflix, too. Can't trust those stars anymore, ugh. The one star horror flicks I've watched on there are cinematic masterpieces compared to this.

In fact, I think you could say a huge part--possibly the majority--of modern horror from the 70s onward feature strong female characters, regardless of the Bechdel Test standing.

In fact, this movie probably proves that a movie is still *beep* even if it passes the Bechdel test...

Feminist horror, WTF??!! Does every fecking movie or TV show have to have some kind of 'agenda' these days? Oh and tell me, how many horror films have you seen when the only person left alive is male?

Just...take it away.

I agree. As a girl myself I cannot stand how everything has to have a label. It's a movie. That's it.

Agreed, it's ridiculous. If you call something feminist or vegan, it's suddenly the best thing ever. Sheeple.

Give me a break... the whole movie is awful. There's not a redeeming quality about it, apart from it being less than an hour and 20 minutes long. The acting was pathetic, the whole Lizzie Borden thing was laughable and completely irrelevant, the "effects" were... nevermind, if I write more I will have put more effort into this review than the cast and crew put into the movie.

But I've got to say... "Good location"? It's supposed to be the Borden house, but it's 100% not at all anything like the real location. Spend 30 seconds on Google and search "Lizzie Borden house" and it becomes painfully obvious that, not only are the filmmakers so lazy they didn't bother to find a house that in any way resembled the real thing, but they also probably don't know anything about Borden apart from vaguely hearing that there was someone murdered with an axe. There's a sauna and a swimming pool in this movie, for %#^@'s sake! Hilariously, an axe is shown but not even used in the movie, that I could tell. The cluelessness of the writer(s) is something I'd expect in a grade school book report where the kid didn't read the book. PATHETIC.

The only reasonable conclusion I can come up with for your ridiculous "feminist horror" comment and generous review is that you are either A} a cast member, B) a crew member, or C) a relative/friend of A or B.
