I must've missed a part in the movie but why does Dotty hate Gillian so much?

Because Gillian stole an expensive dress from Doty's boutique.

Oh ok, i missed that part of the movie. I caught the middle of the movie when i was changing channels. 

It's hard because there are SO many characters! It was a blouse that costed like 999 dollars or something; couldn't read well and Gillian stuffed it in her purse. Dotty just so happened to be at the same event as Gillian and the claws came out.

Surely shoplifting isn't all that easy. But Gillian easily stole items twice during the course of the movie I think. No alarms went off.
