Couldn't Barry have saved the guy in the car and caught Gravity girl?

After he handcuffed her he turned around and saw a car falling and she said he can either let the guy in the car die and catch her or save him and let her get away.

I mean we just saw Barry in an episode where he ran so fast a nuclear bomb was slowing exploding at a snails pace, why can he not run and get the guy from the car and get back down before Gravity Girl can even move?

He went to get him and she just ran down the road, why could Barry not catch her? Or better yet get back to her before she could even flinch? When he got back he was just like "aw she got away" like for a moment he forgot he's he's got super speed.

The Flash has ALWAYS been problematic in that regard (comics, cartoons and TV...and that movie). It seems like super-speed is a fun power to write about but it's hard to conceptualize.

I mean, think about how some of his main villains should never really pose a threat to him. Captain Cold? Barry can move faster than Snarts finger can squeeze a trigger. Weather Wizard? With the POSSIBLE exception of lightning, Barry can react to anything the Weather Wizard conjures up before it's a threat. The Pied Piper? Barry routinely moves FASTER THAN SOUND.

It's just written to be a problem when there needs to be a problem.
