Joe's wedding ring

ok, why is Joe still wearing his wedding ring? obviously, when Iris thought her mom was dead, it made sense that he kept wearing it in honor of her memory. But when we found out she had left them because she was doing drugs, or whatever it was, he still wore the ring. She's actually dead now, Joe is seriously dating someone, and he's still wearing his ring? if I were Cecile, I'd ask him why the neck he still wears it. I don't think I would date someone who still wore his old wedding ring.
