Shorter Flashpoint vs. Multi episode Flashpoint

I think that a lot of people are going to think that Flashpoint is only one episode, but the thing is that it is going to have ripple effects that last all season and beyond.

Just imagine that the timeline before Barry left it is a decent looking drinking glass. Barry used to like this glass but something happened and now he doesn't like it very much. He wants to have a nicer glass.

So he goes back in time and saves his mom. When he comes back the glass looks nicer at first, but then Barry realizes that it only looks nice to him and to everyone else it looks terrible. Cisco is a rich douche, Caitlin isn't realizing her full potential, Wally is severly injured and near death, Joe is a mess. Barry realizes that he wants his original glass back because he cares about his friends.

Except Barry has been outsmarted this time by Reverse Flash. Barry loses the power to go back and fix it. So Reverse Flash has to do it, and when he does, he decides to take Barry's original glass and knock it off the shelf so it breaks into pieces.

I think the whole of Season 3 is going to be Barry trying to put this glass back together but even if he does, it won't look nearly as good as it did back when Barry went back to save his mom.

I think Barry might try to go to find out the ways that Reverse Flash manipulated the timeline for the worse but Barry could end up making things worse with his good intentions.

I am looking forward to seeing Jay Garrick as a mentor to Flash during all of this.

I had an idea for a 3+ episode Flashpoint but by doing it that way, it was like it was its own contained universe and changing it back resulted in it being wrapped up with a bow with only a few repercussions. I think what we are getting is a one episode Flashpoint with 22 additional episodes of Flashpoint effects. In a way, I think we are getting Flashpoint every episode from now until the end of the show because what has been done cannot be undone.
