They ripped off a classic Albert Brooks joke

Did the writers think no one had ever seen the classic comedy "Lost in America" by Brooks? They ripped off the "$100,000 dollar job box" at the employment agency joke and put it in the promo. Its a famous joke guys. Seriously.

That's a word that hates women. Tim: What? "Twat"? Daisy: No, "jumpsuit."

Never heard of "homage"?

"There will be blood. Oh, yes! There will be blood."-Jigsaw; "Saw II"

reply

Stealing isn't homage.

How do you know it's stolen and not a homage?

If it's such a famous joke how come i never heard of it?

Lost in America - 1985. After 29 years, I think it can be used again.

reply

Not to mention, it was a $200,000 dollar job box in the episode.

But yeah, I think after 29 years it's safe to reuse the joke.

Cardinal rule of comedy - you don't lift a joke. Similar is one thing, theft is another. Just ask Dane Cook (or Louis CK).
