Pro:Introduces me to people I had never heard of- Con: American centric

Firstly, as I said I really liked the way this show introduced me to people who seemed to be forgotten but without them, we wouldn't have the world we have to day. One example I liked was Lee De Forest's 1906 "audion" who contributed to the development of the vacuum tube or valve but who was a big failure.
Also, Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville's 1857 Phonautograph. A man, who recorded himself singing but was unable to play it back and was forgotten about until in the 21st century his recording was eventually played. Forgotten but now acknowledged as the first recording of a human voice.
However, I did find that the show was a little US centric. Some developement that was done within europe was ignored for a US flavour. That's ok in some cases as the major development did happen there but it wasn't always the only place.
