Yeah she was tediously average. On the other hand, the actress who played the cousin with the cheating husband is jaw droppingly dead gorgeous. And they made the husband cheat on her? Whaaat? Was that the “crazy” part ?

The actress who plays the cousin looks like she's had a shit-ton of plastic surgery to get that gorgeous. Which was deliberate, the movie had a cluster of mean girls sniggering "... she never even heard of plastic surgery..." about the heroine, they meant to show the Singaporean rich as culture where people think they can buy physical beauty like they buy jewelry.

So IMHO they wanted to cast someone with a lovely natural-looking face and a natural flat chest as Rachel, and did.

She's very pretty, and very likeable in the role, someone who can appeal to both men and women.

I dont see how they could have done better re casting.

Constance is beautiful but also accessible and likeable unlike the Astrid character(Gemma Chan).

I thought she was perfect for the part. Very American also.
