ALL black folks have a huge huge huge reason to be racist. If I were black, I'd hate the white man. Things change too slowly. It's all too slow.

I saw him speak in Toronto around 20 years ago. It wasn't a laugh fest. He wasn't a cheery guy with a happy message. Who cares though? Somebody has to be loud and pushy. Somebody has to mention that maybe Tarantino shouldn't use the N word so relentlessly in his movies. There are idiots in the world who think it's cool. Spike calls that *beep* out. And there is so much to call out.

I was invited to dinner and a Knicks game with Professor Lee. I showed up without advance notice with an "and one" and he graciously bought her dinner as well. I reassured him that she had her own ticket up in the cheap seats and I'd be sitting with him courtside. At half time he graciously suggested that he would "find somewhere to stand off in the corner" for the rest of the game so that my girl could come down and sit in his seat. His $3200 courtside seat. Spike found out our outbound flight the next day was getting canceled, and he told us about it and advised us to update our hotel reservations -- and then invited us down to NYU the next day to sit in on one of the classes he teaches at The Tisch School. Once there, he encouraged us to participate in the dialogue with directors presenting their work to the class. My girl and I are both white. The Maestro was the kindest, most gracious host that a person could ever ask for, and I never once felt even an iota of racism or racial tension. My two cents, based on my experience and not some sound bite spun out of context.

Except, he's not a racist. Not at all.

You know what? Idiots like you have been saying this same tired, bull**** about Spike for years. Once again, bringing up and pointing out racism in the film industry (which he's always done from day one by starting his own company at the beginning of his career and hiring black folks to get into the business--a number of folks started their careers working with him--look them up.) So unless you actually have something new to say about him that hasn't already been said in the last 25 years, then just STFU, please.

Uh, no they weren't. That scene in PULP FICTION was sick and racist as hell If you're seen the film, you know what I'm referring to) and Spike was right to call QT out for that---I though it was disgusting. And there was no need for QT to even use the N-word in it---he just did it because he thought it was cool (he's an arrogant a**hole anyway.) And,yeah, even though Spike was obviously jumping on Eastwood for press for his own World War II film, IRACLE AT ST. ANNA, he had a point there too, most World War II films, even today, (with the exception of RED TAILS) don't even acknowledge the fact black folks and other people of color fought in that war too. Spike was just pointing out how rarely Hollywood does that. I mean, look at all the hassle George Lucas had to go through just to get RED TAILS made, hell, he had to pull a Spike Lee and go indie himself to even get it out there. So,yeah, Spike did actually have a good point about those two other guys doing what they did.
