Great acting, but nothing really happens.
These two don't change each other in any significant way, and other than the road trip to see her father (which ends up mostly a non-event) nothing happens.
In the end, they part ways and are exactly the same as before they met.
Feh......
In fairness, you just described hundreds of other movies, as well.
But this one seemed pretty uneventful in that characters didn't change, grow, or alter life course in any shape whatsoever. I'm not even sure there's any good memories either one will reflect on.
