It was the most believable "Found footage" movie ever. I can't wait to one day show my kids, and tell them my parents had recorded it when I was a baby

Don't bother. It's a wannabe ripoff of "GhostWatch", which was a real live Halloween special on the BBC on Halloween in 1992, with their real news people. I'd refer you to GhostWatch if you want to see one that was actually pulled over on the public.

Enough with the Ghostwatch references! I want to see this movie on its own merits. Besides, isn't it from 1987, NOT 1992??? Which one came first, HMMMMM??? BTW, I thought Ghostwatch was really boring and too obviously fake.

Someone has a problem separating movies from reality. 2013.

"Ghostwatch" was hardly the first phony live broadcast where all hell breaks loose. Orson Welles did it decades before with his War of the Worlds radio show.

Aside from that "WNUF Halloween Special" is very different from "Ghostwatch." The humor that runs throughout and creativity make it more than just a stunt with a punchline. The fake local channel ads and level of detail recreating the 80's make this a hundred times more entertaining. It really is a fond appreciation of that time and as someone who grew up watching local UHF in that era they really nail it. The local eateries, the anti-drug PSAs, the 1-900 numbers; the whole thing is ingenious and tons of fun. The filmmakers made something very unique here. I hope more will discover and appreciate it.

... Do you actually think that War Of The Worlds has anything in common with Ghostwatch or this movie? Back to the drawing board for you.

Holy... Ghostwatch didn't have to make fake commercials. Because there were REAL ones during the REAL broadcast in 1992. Derp.
