Disingenuous.

How can you spend a good portion of a show highlighting the "evils" of Christianity because of some Mega-Church's views on homosexuality and in the same show focus on the poor treatment of Muslims in this country by those evil Islamophobes? Spurlock knows the Islamic doctrine on homosexuality, but for some reason ignored that in attempt to portray Muslims in a positive light.
Disingenuous POS.

So, you reject Muslims being presented in a positive light despite the fact that you yourself admit that they have similar cultural views with Christians? I think you missed a more complex idea. The disingenuous nature of discrimination, specifically.

reply

Muslims want to murder anyone they disagree with. Not really "similar cultural views"

I'm an Atheist by the way. I just happen to have eyes. Muslims murder "infidels" around the world, but here in America we have to be excessively apologetic to them while they demand our heads.

Worldwide modern Christian reaction to me: You're wrong, we'll try to change you.
Worldwide modern Muslim reaction to me: You're wrong, convert or die.

I think you're lumping a whole group of people together because of the actions of a minority. Many Christians kill innocent people in the U.S.A every year but that make Christians killers.

"Apes don't read philosophy." "Yes they do, Otto. They just don't understand it."

If the Muslim majority who you presume are peaceful would loudly disavow the radical minority, then your comment would be reasonable. But the Muslim majority do not loudly disavow the crazies. Perhaps they are afraid of them or perhaps they agree with them. I had the pleasure of watching Muslim reactions to 9/11 on TV while I was in England in 2001. The footage I saw was not shown in the US. It portrayed the happiness (demonstrations and dancing) in Muslim countries. At that point the internet was not what it is today and the Muslim joy was not widely disseminated in the US.

I will make some claims about you based on your short post.

1) You misunderstand how humans (in a society) work.
2) You are ill-informed.
3) You haven't thought this through properly.
4) You are getting your information/your POV from western media fueling that particular POV you have and find comfort in - just like "they" are. Thus you can only argue and see things from one POV. Understandable, but still doesn't make it truthful or balanced.

I'm re-watching this episode and am awed by my desire to help others and be a better person. I'm very sorry that all you saw was negativity. Be well.
